- She was evacuated to Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, where she remained until age four; she continued to live there until her graduation from high school. After moving to Tokyo, she studied scriptwriting, and she eventually became a scriptwriter. One of her famous works, Senbazuru Gensō (Thousand Cranes Fantasy, 1984, Yomiuri TV), won the Excellence Award at the 3rd Yomiuri TV Golden Scenario Awards. The story follows a ten-year-old boy whose birthday trip with his mother to see a baseball game in Hiroshima is cancelled due to a sudden fever. As he drifts in and out of consciousness, he opens his eyes to find the spirit of a child standing before him. The work, which deals with the theme of the atomic bomb, was staged as a play by the theater troupe Fonte in Yokohama in October 2009. She also scripted the television series Saikon Torampu (Remarriage Cards, 1998, TBS).
