Kitamura Mitsufumi

- He was born in Nara Prefecture in 1939. After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Kyoto University, he joined NHK, where he served as a drama director, chief producer, and senior executive in the General Planning Office. He was subsequently appointed as the general producer at WOWOW. At NHK, he directed drama series and specials, including Kettai na Hitobito (Weird People, 1973–1974), Tenka Dōdō (1973–1974), and NHK Special: Nihon no Sengo (NHK Special: Post-War Japan, 1977), and he later produced Omoide Toranpu (Memorable Playing Cards, 1984) and Chichi no Wabi-jō (My Father’s Apology, 1986).
