The date and place of his birth are not known. He was a scriptwriter. His screenplays include Yūrei Takushī (The Phantom Taxi, 1956, produced by Tokyo Eiga and distributed by Toho, directed by Motoyoshi Oda, and starring Hideo Hongō). His film adaptation works include Murasaki Zukin (The Purple Hood,1958, produced by Toei Kyoto, distributed by Toei, directed by Shūmei Ōnishi, and starring Chiezo Kataoka). His television scripts include Misemono Gōketsu Tan (Tales of the Side-Show Hero, 1953, NHK), Akikaze yo Kokoro Araba (Autumn Wind, If You Have a Heart, 1956, NHK), Tenten Musume (Tenten Girls, 1956, Radio Tokyo [now TBS]), OK Yokochō ni Atsumare (Gather at OK Alley, 1957, NTV), Manji-za no Nukeana (The Secret Passage of Manji-za, 1961, NTV), Ketteiteki Shunkan (The Decisive Moment, 1961, NTV), and Ukiyo-e Onna Nezumi Kozo (Ukiyo-e: Female Robin Hood, 1972, Fuji TV). He worked on many period-piece adaptations, including Gomon Tataki (Five-mon Beating, based on the original work by Shin Hasegawa, 1956, NHK), Rōnin-gai and Rōnin Yokochō (Ronin Alley and Ronin District, both based on the original work by Itarō Yamagami, 1958, NTV). He also adapted works by Kiichirō Yamate, Chōgorō Kaionji, and Jirō Osaragi, among others. He was involved in the 1953 and the 1961 NHK drama series of Kidō Okamoto’s Hanshichi Torimonochō (The Cases of Detective Hanshichi).
