- Overview
- This TV drama portrays the refined interaction between a film-loving youth who adores the film Kurama Tengu and an actual actor and old time film star Kanjuro Arashi. It won the Incentive Award in the 4th HBF Prize, and the Excellence Award in the TV entertainment program division of the JBA Awards. Shinichi Nozaki has admired Arakan (Kanjuro Arashi) since childhood. He quits his job with a trading company to create the film Kurama Tengu. He sets off to Kyoto right away with his daughter Akari, who is in elementary school, and offers Arakan the leading role in his film. As Arakan happily accepted the offer, shooting commences. However, Shinichi faces a lot of problems; not knowing the situation, Arakan’s agent gets annoyed by Shinichi, and Shinichi’s wife joins her husband and daughter only to be shock by his behavior. On top of that, when filming a scene where Arakan dashes across a river beach riding a white horse, he falls off the horse and injured his legs. Will Shinichi manage to complete his film? Kinya Aikawa played Shinichi, and Kanjuro Arashi himself played Arakan. Kurama Tengu no Ie became the last show in which Kanjuro Arashi played Kurama Tengu.
