- She was born in 1923. Her father was the screenwriter Kōgo Noda, who was famous for his work with Yasujirō Ozu. In 1954, she married the screenwriter Hisashi Yamanouchi. Noda initially strongly opposed them marrying, but after others intervened on their behalf, the couple was finally able to wed. Like her husband, she was active as a scriptwriter for film, television, and stage. Her screenplays include Waga Seishun no Toki (Time of My Youth, 1975), Garasu no Usagi (The Glass Rabbit, 1979), Tistou: Midori no Oyayubi (Tistou The Green Thumb, 1990), and Kim no Jūjika (Kim’s Cross, 1990), and her stage plays include Hospice and Onna, Onna, Onna (Woman, Woman, Woman). His television scripts include Wakamono-tachi (Young People, 1966, Fuji TV), Yureru Wakaba (Swaying Young Leaves, 1966, NHK), Wakaba no Koro (Youthful Days, 1967, NHK), Mitsumeitari (The Gaze, 1968, Fuji TV), Umi no Mieru Ie (A House with an Ocean View, 1971, NHK), Shunpūbatei-kyoku (Song of the Spring Breeze on the River Embankment, 1974, NHK), and Kagirinaki Zenshin (Infinite Progress, 1976, NHK). She died in February 2012 at the age of 89.
