- Countless novels by Seicho Matsumoto have been adapted into films and TV series. This does not only include full-length novels but also short stories. The short story collection Inka no Kazari comprises 11 short stories. In 1986, a TV series adaptation of it aired for nine consecutive weeks under the title Seicho Matsumoto Sasupensu: Inka no Kazari. Kinen ni... is one of the shows in the series and is based on the short story Kinen ni. Other stories from Inka no Kazari that were adapted for the TV series were Tabi, Miokutte, Aiken, Hakone Hatsumode, Iboku, Otedama, Saishun, and Hyakuen Koka. Kinen ni... stars Riko Fujima and Masato Furuoya. It won the 2nd ACA National Arts Festival Best Picture Award. Ryoji Terauchi is a banker. He is seeing a woman named Takiko Fukui who works for a steel company. Takiko is four years older than Ryoji and has been divorced in the past. Ryoji’s older brother tries to persuade Ryoji to split up with Takiko, but Ryoji continues his relationship with her in secret from his brother and parents.
